Wolseley 16-60 Introduction The 12th October 1961 saw the Wolseley 15/60 replaced by the Wolseley 16-60. Externally, the rear fins were now lower with revised tail-lamps to go with them, the rear overriders were re-aligned to the lamp clusters. The biggest changes however were mechanical.

WOLSELEY 16/60 4-door 5-seater saloon. The last of the dry-as-dust Farina-styled BMC cars, which floated on unchanged from the early sixties. Basic Austin/Morris style adorned with typical grille and fancy paintwork, plus more lavish interior. Stodgy 61bhp B-Series engine gave 80mph if you were lucky, but much slower with the automatic option.

The Wolseley 16/60 was the last, in production until 24 April 1971. Note that there were two other Farina-styled car lines launched by BMC at the same time — the compact Austin A40 Farina and large Wolseley 6/99/Austin A99 Westminster and derivatives.

Wolseley 16/60 The Wolseley 15/60 was the first of the mid-sized Pinin Farina-styled automobiles from the British Motor Corporation (BMC). Launched in December 1958, the design would eventually be shared with seven other marques. All of the cars were updated in 1961 with a larger engine and new model designations.

The Wolseley 16/60 was the high-end 1960s Farina family saloon, offered in this vibrant Damask Red and Arabian Grey colour combination. As can be seen from the photos, the bodywork is in well-nigh immaculate order, with sharp, rust-free arches and sills all round. The red leather interior is similarly superb, with spotless dashboard and roof.
